Industrial Visit 2024: Exploring Cryogenic Technology at Cryocord, Cyberjaya

On 6 December 2024, an industrial visit to Cryocord, Cyberjaya, was successfully organized as part of the BSB3163 Plant and Mammalian Cell Technology course. The visit involved 50 students accompanied by Dr. Nor Adila Binti Mhd Omar (course lecturer) and Ts. Dr. Lee Chin Mei.

The visit provided students with valuable exposure to cryogenic technology and stem cell storage applications in medical biotechnology. Cryocord, a leading company in this field, showcased advanced laboratory facilities and cryogenic storage technologies used in modern healthcare. Students also had the opportunity to interact with industry experts, gaining insights into the challenges and career prospects in the biotechnology sector.

This program effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, enhancing students' understanding of concepts learned in the classroom. It also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4), which emphasizes quality education through practical and relevant learning experiences.

By participating in this visit, students were inspired to further pursue innovation and advancements in biotechnology, equipping them to face future challenges in the industry.
