ChM. Dr. Wan Norfazilah Represents UMPSA as Keynote Speaker at International Congress

ChM. Dr. Wan Norfazilah Wan Ismail, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), was invited as a keynote speaker at the 8th Edition of Advanced Materials Science World Congress (Adv. Materials Science 2026), held virtually on 30–31 March 2026.

The congress brought together researchers and experts from various countries to share advancements in materials science under the theme “Transforming Materials Science through Synergy and Sustainability: Bridging Research, Technology and Industry.”

In her keynote presentation titled “Smart Multifunctional Protective Textile Coatings,” ChM. Dr. Wan Norfazilah presented her research on the development of advanced functional coatings for textiles, focusing on enhancing properties such as water repellency, antibacterial performance and thermal resistance. The work highlights the integration of multiple functionalities into a single material system, addressing current challenges in durability, scalability and environmental sustainability.

Her participation as a keynote speaker reflects UMPSA’s growing visibility in advanced materials research and reinforces the faculty’s commitment to translating scientific innovation into practical and industry-relevant solutions.

The session also opened opportunities for international research collaboration, particularly in the field of functional materials and sustainable technologies.
