MAJLIS MENANDATANGANI MoU DAN PELUNCURAN PROJEK KOMUNITI BERINTEGRASI: MEMPERKASA KOMUNITI MELALUI APLIKASI BIOTEKNOLOGI DAN FERTIGASI

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) terus memperkukuh peranannya sebagai universiti teknikal berteraskan komuniti menerusi Majlis Menandatangani Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) dan Peluncuran Projek Komuniti Berintegrasi bersama Rumah Penyayang Tun Abdul Razak (RPTAR), yang telah berlangsung dengan penuh gemilang pada 4 Julai 2025 di Pekan, Pahang.

Mesyuarat bersama Panel Penasihat Industri bagi program MPS

25 Jun 2025 -  Mesyuarat bersama Panel Penasihat Industri (IAP) bagi program Sarjana Sains Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan telah diadakan pada 25 Jun 2025 bertempat di Mangala Estate Boutique Resort, Kuantan. Mesyuarat ini diadakan adalah bertujuan untuk mendapat input dari pihak industri supaya kandungan program khususnya setiap kursus adalah menepati keperluan industri.

Lawatan penandarasan studio iLEARN di UMPSA Gambang

Lawatan penandarasan ini dianjurkan oleh Taskforce ‘Smart Classroom’ ke studio iLEARN di UMPSA Gambang. Studio tersebut adalah di bawah kendalian Pusat Sumber Pengajaran dan e-Pembelajaran (PSPe).  Lawatan ini disertai oleh 5 ahli Taskforce ‘Smart Classroom’ iaitu Dr Ahmad Mahfuz bin Gazali, Dr Kamrul Fakir bin Kamarudin, Dr Shoriya Aruni binti Abdul Manaf, Cik Noratiqoh binti Ab Rahim, dan Puan Dina Diyana binti Rastam Tan.

The Role of HSE Practitioner in Preventing Major Incidents

A co-lecture session for the BPS2143 Industrial Safety subject was conducted on 18^th June 2025 at WDK-16. The session featured Encik Mohd Faisal Bin Seman @ Abdullah, the QHSE Manager at Reservoir Link Energy, who delivered an insightful talk titled “The Role of HSE Practitioner in Preventing Major Incidents.”

On 18 June 2025, the students of BSB3593 Biosensor Technology from Industrial Biotechnology, led by AP. Dr. Nina Suhaity Binti Azmi, had the privilege of joining an engaging co-lecture session with Dr. Farah Asilah Binti Azri from Biogenes Technologies Sdn. Bhd., a key player in the field of molecular diagnostics.

Themed “Aptamer-Based Electrochemical Biosensor: Tools for Molecular Diagnostics,” the session provided an insightful deep dive into:

Overview of Biogenes Technologies Sdn. Bhd. and its role in biotech innovation

Aptamer technologies and their fabrication

Sensor development and detection techniques

Introduction to biosensors and aptamer-based diagnostics

This collaborative session enriched the learning experience by connecting classroom knowledge with real-world industry applications, aligning with the course objectives to expose students to current biosensor trends and practices.

A total of 49 participants, including FIST students, BSB3593 students, and guests who joined the session via Microsoft Teams.

The Faculty of Industrial Science and Technology (FIST), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has successfully organized the 5th Academic and Research Colloquium (COAR 2025) in collaboration with the College of Fisheries, Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Philippines.

This program is a continuation of the COAR colloquium series that has been taking place since 2021 as an initiative to strengthen international academic and research networks.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Associate Professor Dr. Aizi Nor Mazila binti Ramli, Dean of FSTI, UMPSA, welcoming the presence of Professor Dr. Ravelina R. Velasco, Vice President, Student Affairs CLSU and Associate Professor Dr. Hazel Monica Matias-Peralta, Acting Dean of the College of Fisheries, CLSU as the main co-organizer of the program.

COAR 2025, themed “Sustainable Biotechnology for Food Security”, focuses on research and education efforts in agricultural biotechnology that are relevant to global food security challenges.

The program brought together researchers and academics from both universities with the presence of guest speakers from CLSU, namely Associate Professor Dr. Franz Marielle Garcia, Director of the Crop and Resources Research and Development Center (CRRDC), Associate Professor Dr. Joel Juvinal, Head of the Food Science and Technology Department, Professor Dr. Rich Milton Dulay, Head of the Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development (CTMRD).

Meanwhile, FSTI UMPSA also featured experienced researchers including Associate Professor Dr. Nina Suhaity Binti Azmi, Dr. Mohd Fazli Bin Farida Asras, and Dr. Nazira Mahmud as head of the Industrial Biotechnology Program. The program was attended by at least 120 participants consisting of students and researchers from both institutions.

According to the program director, Dr. Tan Suat Hian, this collaboration not only strengthens the bilateral relationship between UMPSA and CLSU, but also opens up space for the implementation of student exchange programs, international industrial training, Global Classroom activities, and the development of joint research projects of international standard.

COAR 2025 is also a strategic field in supporting the implementation of UMPSA's 2021-2025 Strategic Cores, namely Holistic Graduates (1A), New Knowledge Generation (3A), and Student Internationalization (6A).

Previous COAR events also involved international collaborations with institutions such as the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil (2021), Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia (2022), University of The Philippines Diliman (2023) and Universitas Negeri Malang (2024).

UMPSA, through FSTI, continues to be committed to expanding its global network and developing academic and research capacity in line with the university's aspirations towards international excellence.

LAWATAN PENANDAARASAN PROGRAM DRS KE UITM JENGKA: PERKONGSIAN STRATEGIK UNTUK PENAMBAHBAIKAN PROGRAM DIPLOMA

11 Jun 2025 – Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Industri (FSTI), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) telah mengadakan satu lawatan penandaarasan ke UiTM Cawangan Pahang, Kampus Jengka, khususnya ke Pusat Pengajian Sains, Fakulti Sains Gunaan. Lawatan ini bertujuan memperkukuh amalan pelaksanaan akademik serta memperkasa kolaborasi antara institusi. melibatkan program Diploma Sains Industri, FSTI, UMPSA dan program Diploma Sains, UiTM.

Lawatan ini telah disambut oleh ChM. Dr. Zurhana binti Mat Hussin, Koordinator Prasiswazah, yang turut mengetuai sesi libat urus pada hari tersebut. Fokus utama lawatan ini adalah untuk meninjau pelaksanaan program Diploma Sains di UiTM serta mengenalpasti amalan terbaik berkaitan pembangunan kurikulum, pengurusan pelajar, serta pelaksanaan pengajaran dan pembelajaran, dan penilaian akademik.

Sepanjang sesi lawatan, delegasi FSTI diketuai oleh Ts. Dr. Farah Hanani binti Zulkifli, Ketua Program Diploma Sains Industri, dan turut disertai oleh dua orang pensyarah kanan iaitu Dr. Nurjannah Salim (Koordinator Latihan Industri) dan Dr. Siti Maznah Kabeb (Koordinator Peperiksaan) telah diberikan taklimat komprehensif berkaitan struktur dan strategi pelaksanaan program diploma di UiTM, termasuk pendekatan Outcome-Based Education (OBE), sistem pemantauan pelajar dan hubungan dengan pihak institusi/industri.

Menurut Ketua Program Diploma Sains Industri UMPSA, Ts. Dr. Farah Hanani binti Zulkifli, lawatan ini amat bermanfaat dalam memberi perspektif baharu ke arah penambahbaikan program DRS. Dapatan daripada lawatan ini akan dimanfaatkan sebagai input kepada semakan dalaman program serta pelaksanaan Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), khususnya dalam usaha menyelaras program dengan keperluan profesional dan kehendak industri semasa.

FSTI UMPSA merakamkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada pihak UiTM Jengka atas kesediaan menerima kunjungan ini serta berharap jaringan kolaborasi ini dapat diteruskan dalam pelbagai bentuk pada masa akan datang.
