18 MEI 2023 – Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Industri (FSTI) telah menerima kunjungan hormat Pengurusan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sentosa, Maran yang terdiri daripada Guru Besar iaitu Encik Mohd Azrul bin Md Yusuf bersama empat (4) orang guru. Tujuan kunjungan adalah untuk membincangkan jalinan kerjasama yang bakal dilakukan bersama dalam bentuk Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) berkenaan dengan program Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disamping merapatkan silaturahim antara kedua-dua institusi.

Delegasi SK Sentosa disambut oleh Pengurusan FSTI yang terdiri daripada Dekan, Timbalan Dekan (Akademik dan Hal Ehwal Pelajar), Timbalan Dekan (Penyelidikan dan Pengajian Siswazah), tiga (3) Ketua Program dan Penyelaras Dokumentasi Hubungan Luar.

The 2nd International Conference on Industry-Academia Initiatives in Biotechnology and Chemistry (iCIABC2023)

The 2nd International Conference on Industry-Academia Initiatives in Biotechnology and Chemistry (iCIABC2023) aims to explore the latest advancements and exchange cutting-edge ideas in the fields of industrial biotechnology and chemistry. The conference theme is Advancement in Sequencing Technologies for Sustainable Industrial Biotechnology and Chemistry. 2 MEI 2023 – Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Industri (FSTI) telah menerima kunjungan Yang Hormat Profesor Dato’ Ts. Dr Yuserrie bin Zainuddin, Naib Canselor Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) bagi menjayakan Sesi Libat Urus Naib Canselor Bersama FSTI.

Dalam ucapan amanatnya, Naib Canselor UMP telah memberi penekanan mengenai dua (2) perkara utama iaitu Komitmen Kewangan Universiti dan Objektif Strategik UMP yang dizahirkan melalui Pelan Strategik UMP 2021 – 2025 (UMP25). Selesai ucapan amanat tersebut, Naib Canselor UMP turut membuka ruang kepada warga FSTI untuk memberikan sebarang pandangan dan pertanyaan yang berkisar kepada hala tuju dan kamajuan untuk fakulti dan UMP di masa akan datang.

Sebagai rekod, seramai lebih kurang 80 orang staf FSTI yang terdiri daripada Ahli Pengurusan, staf akademik, staf teknikal dan staf pentadbiran telah hadir menjayakan sesi ini.

In order to support the Centre for Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiative to connect students and academics from different countries, a global classroom was conducted on 16^th January 2023 for in the teaching and learning of BSB2193 Industrial Microbiology.

Global classroom is a cost-effective way to globalise the on-campus learning experience. Dr. Lee Chin Mei, the coordinator of the course has invited two guest lecturers, Dr. Dinar Mindrati Fardhani and Ms. Shafina Mutia Syarifah from Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta (UNISA) for global classroom. Both invited speakers joined the class physically.

However, students from UNISA were joining via online platform. Students were learning about application of microbe to degrade cellulase to produce bioplastic.

A workshop titled "Publish or Perish" was successfully held on March 16th, 2023. The speaker was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Salihin bin Muhamad, an experienced academician in publishing research journals from Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology, and was attended by 40 postgraduate students.

During the workshop, the speaker discussed the importance of publishing research papers for postgraduate students, and highlighted the importance of choosing the right journals and provided tips on how to select journals that are appropriate for the research area. The attendees also were provided guidance in structuring research papers, citing references, writing effective abstracts and drafting effective conclusions. The workshop also provided an opportunity for attendees to ask questions for the speaker.

Antara agenda yang dibincangkan adalah berkaitan pengenalan mengenai MSOSH dan Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) yang bertujuan untuk melihat potensi kerjasama khususnya melibatkan Program Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan yang dapat dijalankan di antara kedua-dua pihak demi kebaikan bersama.
