Global Classroom BPS2383 Industrial Safety: Current OSH Issues of Customer Service Representatives in Japan

A Global Classroom session for the BPS2383 Industrial Safety course was successfully conducted on 5 January 2026. The session featured Professor Yoko Kawamura from the University of Occupational and Environmental Health, who delivered an insightful lecture entitled “Current OSH Issues of Customer Service Representatives in Japan.”

The session provided students with valuable international perspectives on occupational safety and health (OSH) challenges faced by customer service representatives, particularly in relation to Kasuhara/customer harassment and psychosocial risks, in the service sector. Professor Yoko Kawamura highlighted current trends, regulatory considerations, and preventive strategies adopted in Japan to protect workers’ health and well-being. This Global Classroom initiative successfully strengthened international academic collaboration and enriched students’ learning experience through real-world global insights.
