On May 2025, a routine Co-Lecture session was successfully conducted, bringing together three core courses in the field of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) under the FIST, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). This collaborative program involved three lecturers: Ts. Kamalia Kamarun for BPS3653 Offshore and Marine Safety, En. Zamir Al Hafiz for BPS3313 Construction Safety, and En. Sabri Muhamad for BPS4323 OSH Management System.
The class being conducted through physically and online session. The commitment for all three classes separately is awesome. The students participated in an engaging knowledge-sharing session that covered various safety aspects within the marine, construction, and OSH management sectors. The session was organized by Dr Norwahida Yaakub with full support.
The co-lecture activities included student discussion, interactive Q&A sessions, an OSH quiz within 2 hours. Students also had the opportunity to throw and give innovative ideas on workplace safety management, based on their respective sectors. This initiative provided students with a platform to explore how OSH principles and practices are implemented across different industries in a complementary and holistic manner.
The main objective of the Co-Lecture session was to broaden and deepen students’ understanding of OSH across various sectors, while also fostering collaboration and communication among students from different academic backgrounds. It also served as an effective platform to enhance students’ soft skills, particularly in public speaking and professional discourse. The program received positive feedback from both students and industry.
In conclusion, the OSH Co-Lecture session successfully fulfilled its objective as a meaningful platform for knowledge integration, interdisciplinary understanding, and student preparedness for real-world challenges in occupational safety and health.
