The Occupational Safety and Engineering Research (OSERa) Group, one of the RIGs of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) cluster under the Faculty of Industrial Sciences & Technology (FIST-UMPSA), recently earned the trust of FGV Holdings Berhad to deliver a comprehensive safety training program to their workers. The training activity was conducted on August 29, 2024, at Bengkel Ulu Jempol, FGV Holdings Berhad.

The one-day program focused on enhancing workers' understanding of basic Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) principles. It aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and best practices for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

Seven experts from the OSERa group were involved, each sharing their specialized knowledge:

1. Dr. Mirta Widia – Ergonomics
2. Dr. Wan Norlinda Roshana Mohd Nawi – ISO 45001 Awareness
3. Ts. Dr. Hanida Abdul Aziz – HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control)
4. Ms. Nur Syafiqah Fauzan – Occupational Noise Exposure
5. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ezrin Hani Sukadarin – Manual Handling in the Workplace
6. Dr. Junaidah Binti Zakaria – Behavior-Based Safety
7. Ts. Hairunnisa Osman

A total of 43 participants attended the training, including management personnel, supervisors, foremen, and registered contractors of FGV. The training was well-received, with participants actively engaging in discussions and demonstrating great enthusiasm throughout the program.

The OSERa group expresses gratitude to FGV Holdings Berhad for the opportunity to contribute to workplace safety enhancement.
