Bioreactor Workshop: From Theory to Practice

10 February 2026 | UMPSA Gambang

The Bioreactor Workshop: From Theory to Practice was successfully conducted on 9-10 February 2026 through a strategic collaboration between the Faculty of Science and Industrial Technology (FSTI), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, and IKA Works Asia Sdn. Bhd., organized by the Biological Science (Biosphere) Research Cluster.

The workshop was officially opened by the Dean of FSTI, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aizi Nor Mazila Ramli, and formally closed by the Deputy Dean, Dr. Muhammad Hafiz Mazwir.

The workshop provided participants with structured exposure to both theoretical principles and practical competencies in bioreactor operation, including system setup, control of critical process parameters (pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and agitation), basic troubleshooting, and data interpretation. Through hands-on sessions and equipment demonstrations led by industry experts, participants enhanced their technical proficiency and operational confidence in bioprocess applications.

This program reflects the faculty’s commitment to strengthening university–industry partnerships, facilitating knowledge transfer, and supporting capacity building in biotechnology and bioprocess engineering. Overall, the workshop contributed to the development of skilled human capital and reinforced collaborative efforts between academia and industry to support innovation and applied research.
