FIST Students Inspired by Industry Expert on Water Treatment Innovation

Gambang, 28 October 2025 — The Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FIST), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), hosted an industrial co-lecture for BSB2193 Industrial Microbiology featuring ChM. Ts. Dr. Thomas Wun Wee Leong, Managing Director and Environmental Consultant of TW Environmental Sdn. Bhd.
In his talk titled “Empowering Future Innovators: The Role of Science Students in Advancing the Water Treatment Industry,” Dr. Thomas highlighted the importance of science students in driving innovation through research, process optimization, and sustainable environmental practices.

He shared insights on industrial microbiology applications in bioremediation, wastewater treatment, and renewable resource recovery, while emphasizing the growing career opportunities in the water treatment sector.
The session inspired students to explore how scientific knowledge and innovation can contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
